Newborn Photographer Perth

When to book

The best time to contact me about your newborn session is while you are still pregnant so that we can schedule your session ahead of time and take care of all the formalities before baby is born. Things can get quite hectic once your baby arrives, so having your pre consultation done beforehand will provide peace of mind. I will pencil you in around your due date, then I ask that you contact me on the day your baby arrives so I provide a few dates for you to choose from for your session within the desired timeframe. I like babies around 1 week old, but any day between 7-14 is fine. Any older than that and babies startle more easily and harder to pose and things like colic and baby acne can start to flare.

Location

I do all newborn sessions in my Hilbert home studio, starting around 9:30am. I find that all babies sleep better in the morning hours, and I have a controlled environment which is toasty warm to keep your newborn comfortable when naked. I photograph newborns totally nude, so please be aware of this before booking as I don’t photograph babies clothed or with nappies on. Therefore, no special outfits need to be purchased for your session.

How long are newborn sessions

To allow lots of time for cuddles and re-settling and top up feeds, we tell clients to expect to have their newborn session last for an average of 2.5 hours. I don’t go any longer than 3 hours and we are done by 12:30pm.

After your session

Within 2-3 weeks after your session, I will invite you back to the studio to view your images at your viewing and ordering appointment. At this time you will view a slideshow of all you images, then I help you with the best way to display your portraits. My specially designed software will make the selection process a breeze.

Contact me today about booking your newborn session as these first special moments will pass by before you know it and I can’t wait to capture these precious memories for you.
